The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the most important and prestigious annual event in the technology arena. This year, 180,000 people and 4,500 companies gathered in Las Vegas to showcase their latest innovations in the public space of the exhibition which was filled with hundreds of pairs of eyes.
This event is indeed very famous because of the many products on display and making it the direction in which technology moves. Steve Koenig, Vice President of Market Research at the Consumer Technology Association, said there were a number of the most prominent innovations and trends at CES, including:
1. 5G
Communication technology is indeed developing very fast, various companies are constantly competing to increase their connections, one of which is the launch of the latest technology, namely the 5G mobile network. Switching from a 4G mobile network to a 5G mobile network may sound familiar, but that's not the problem. The 5G mobile network has a faster speed than 4G mobile networks, this bigger and faster capacity means it can function as the central nervous system of the world's technological age today. Qualcomm semiconductor company showcased "beamforming" technology to increase the coverage and power of the 5G mobile network. Where there is a display of a "wireless broadband" system to bring this infrastructure to remote areas or inland areas that cannot be reached by fiber optic cable so that the community in the area gets equal distribution of the 5G mobile network.
2. Artificial Intelligence
The next innovation and idea at CES 2019 is artificial intelligence or commonly called artificial intelligence (AI). define artificial intelligence as the ability of the system to interpret external data with real and correct, we use that learning to achieve certain goals and tasks through flexible adaptation. This system is generally considered a computer, intelligence is created by humans and incorporated into a smart machine or computer to be able to do work as can be done by humans. Several kinds of fields of innovation that are closely attached to artificial intelligence include robotic control systems, games, artificial neural networks. There are a lot of logic things that seem difficult for human intelligence, but for Informatics it is relatively unproblematic with these innovations, for example: transforming equations, solving integral equations, making chess or Backgammon games. On the other hand, for human logic, it seems a little intelligence, until now it is still difficult to be realized in Informatics. For example, Object / Face Introduction, playing soccer.
3. 8K
This would not be a unique CES if we did not write a new chapter in screen display innovation, Koenig said, referring to the presence of 4K, 3D and HDR televisions at the previous CES event. CES 2019 is about 8K. Brands like Samsung are leading this innovation trend, given that 4K has just been launched, and that the human eye must work hard to detect differences in resolutions higher than 4K. Isn't this rather haphazard? Koenig's argument is that society needs an increasingly large screen. The average screen size in 2009 is 36 inches; in 2019 it was 48 inches. If you buy a 70-inch set then you want good pictures, and 8K will help with that.
4. A driver without Driver "Level 3"
Previously, CES had exhibited many "Level 2" self-driving vehicles to use the Society of Automotive Engineers jargon which meant partial autonomy: maintenance of adaptive lines, say, or parking assistance.
"Level 3" is the core trend of CES 2019. This makes the vehicle in full control for at least part of the time. The fleet of cars from GM, Ford, and Daimler that can drive without dopers will take to the streets in 2019.
5. Tangguh Technology
The broad but new category that appears at CES 2019 is what Koenig calls "tough technology". Smart cities without resilience will be very vulnerable. Not only cyber attacks, but also tsunamis or earthquakes. So, how do you keep the population fed, drinking, energizing, and warm if there is a disaster?
Many products are lacking in discussing the theme, but Koenig likes Watergen, the Award winner. The Best Innovation from CES 2019, which creates something beyond human expectations, namely water from the air.
that's the latest innovations or trends that will be present amidst the life of the world community in 2019. Hopefully, this brief review will be a meaningful and useful review for others. So from the author and see you at the next article.
